I've spent 18+ years building for record labels, social networks, website builders, creators, and podcasters. I care most about the people actually using what I build, and I obsess over the little details of how it feels. I'm a podcasting expert after leading product at Simplecast (acquired by SiriusXM in 2020) and helping grow it into one of the largest podcast hosts in the U.S. Before that, I did product at the website builders Squarespace and Virb (acquired by GoDaddy), and got my start doing New Media for Vagrant Records and Doghouse Records before moving into product management. I also founded the wedding-ring brand Mister OK.

Currently

At Field Company, a direct-to-consumer cast iron cookware brand, I run the Amazon channel and PPC, help lead the creative team, handle Shopify updates, and more. I'm also spending time on a product contract in the wireless phone space, deep in research and building something new in how even more people get connected. On my own time, I build products with Claude Code and AI tools.

Off the clock: photographer, runner, cyclist. Always happy to recommend music, consumer electronics, running gear, or anything else you can think of. I call it Rubin Recommends.

BirdWatch Alert iOS · Web · AI Link

A bird-ID web app that listens with your phone's mic and announces birds out loud, hands-free — every bird it hears, or just the species on your watchlist — so you can keep your eyes on the trees. Cornell's BirdNET model runs entirely on-device: no account, no servers, no audio leaving your phone. It started as a small but mighty request from a birder who loved Merlin for pointing-and-identifying but wanted to just hear what's around while juggling a camera and binoculars.

Amazon PPC Analyzer AI · Amazon Ads · Internal Tool Only

A tool I built to automate Amazon Sponsored Products & Brands management. An AI agent pulls every ad report via the Amazon Ads API, diagnoses each campaign, and recommends specific, numeric actions, then pushes the changes back and tracks whether they worked. Hours of spreadsheets become a few-minute weekly review, freeing up real time to act on the strategy instead of wrangling the data.
